I'm working on a post for my own blog about The Pit. As I'm working out what I want to say in my post, I've also been thinking about this metaphor that so many of us use when we talk about depression. The pit, the hole in the ground, always bottomless; and then the floor or the scaffolding that meds provide. I'd love to know if it's used in other languages too.
